In 1975, Dr. Montoya founded the Seminario Biblico Fundamental, which prepares Spanish-speaking men for the Gospel ministry; here he teaches pastoral ministry courses. He is the author of Hispanic Ministry in North America (Zondervan, 1989) and Preaching with Passion (Kregel, 2000) and has shared his insights on church planting and evangelism to groups in the US and around the world. Prior to becoming the senior pastor of the First Fundamental Bible Church of Monterey Park, Dr. Montoya served for two years as a local church Visitation Minister and Director of Outreach in Los Angeles. Why a Servant Leadership Symposium?

The primary task of leadership is the development of others. During this 25th year as President of Appalachian I have been keenly reminded of the urgency for developing the next generation of Biblical Servant Leaders. I am passionate about sustaining the rich legacy of our fundamental heritage.

By initiating the Servant Leadership Symposium, it is my prayer that God will use this annual event to practically develop faithful men who will determine to teach others also. . .Because Life is for Service.
