2012 Missions Conference Commencement
As ABC began its 63rd annual Missions Conference all in attendance were reminded of the compelling need for laborers. In 1988 the U.S. sent out 65,000 career missionaries. Twenty years later in 2008 the number dropped to 35,000 career missionaries from the U.S.
The Bible makes clear that the harvest fields are ripe unto harvest. We are praying that God will call forth laborers from our campus family this week.
This year's theme poses the question, “Who Is My Neighbor?” Keynote speaker, Alberto Marquez challenged staff, students, and guest to rethink missions. That is, to consider missions as a ministry toward any ethnicity in any culture. Our conference brings a special emphasis on reaching Hispanics in the U.S.
The morning’s events included the introduction of the various missionaries representing their agencies, time for student to interact with the missionaries, and a message from the word of God by Pastor Marquez.
