Dr. Paul Reiter
Absent from the body, present with his Lord
With deep sadness the Appalachian Bible College family announces the passing of Dr. Paul Reiter on Thursday, June 27th after a brief illness. However, with great joy we honor the testimony of this dear saint who impacted countless lives for Christ and finished his race well.
Dr. Paul Reiter, with his dear wife Lou, modeled faithful pastoral ministry for over 50 years. He was an excellent example of effective expository preaching, pastoral care, local church administration, and commitment to world missions. After pastoral ministry in California and Ohio, Dr. Reiter served on the faculty of Appalachian Bible College for 35 years (1976-2011) teaching Bible, Theology, and Pastoral Studies; in addition, he was the College’s academic dean from 1976-1985. While serving full-time at ABC, he ministered extensively to many churches as an interim pastor.
Dr. Reiter is survived by his faithful wife Lou, two daughters, and their families. The family will hold a private graveside service. The public is invited to a memorial service on Saturday, July 6th at 1 p.m. on the campus of ABC in the Anderson Hall Chapel.
Memorial gifts may be given to Appalachian Bible College (161 College Dr., Mt. Hope, WV 25880) and Bowers Hospice House (454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley, WV 25801).
