No Other Name: Proclaiming Christ to the Unreached and Inaccessible
Wednesday, September 21, 2011 Mr. Phillip Peterson, Chair of ABC’s Missions Major, garnered the support and efforts of the Sophmore and Junior classes as he announced this years Missions Conference theme, No Other Name: Proclaiming Christ to the Unreached and Inaccessible.
Annually these classes partner under the student leadership of the Missions Steering Committee to organize and execute Appalachian Bible College’s annual Missions Conference. Responsibilities include publications, evaluation, prayer, activities, music, children, fundraising, hospitality, nursery, decorations, workshop, ushering and follow-up. Consequently, this provides an opportunity for the students to gain a more complete understanding of all that goes into a missions conference, at a school or in a local church.
This year’s theme, No Other Name: Proclaiming Christ to the Unreached and Inaccessible, is grounded in Acts 4:12, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Through special guest speaker, Pastor Mike DeVries of Northern Ridge Baptist Church, students and those in attendance will be challenged to consider the power of the name of Christ and the salvation it offers.
Stay tuned for additional details as the students lead the way in focusing hearts on Proclaiming Christ to the Unreached and Inaccessible.
