Taking the Lead in Prayer

The scurry on campus to finalize details for ABC’s 2011 Missions Conference will only increase as the weekend goes on. Anderson Hall will begin to translate the theme, No Other Name: Proclaiming Christ to the Unreached and Inaccessible, through intentionally placed decorations and the Servant Center will begin to welcome multiple mission agencies displaying their passion to reach the world.

These past weeks have been an encouragement to both students and staff as they have interacted in the different committees. Taking the lead this morning in chapel was the Prayer Committee. Dean Childs and student leader, Tom Finch, guided the campus family in praying for each missionary attending by name, as well as for our campus family to have hearts tender to God’s work.

This special chapel time concluded our Prayer Emphasis Week as a campus family together, but does not conclude our student’s passion for prayer. Throughout this evening and the day tomorrow the student body has committed to “24 Hours in Prayer” for the conference. Beginning at 5pm tonight students have partnered together to pray in thirty-minute increments until 5pm Saturday evening.

Consider joining us for this exciting event or listen to the messages following the services. You can find the program on our Missions Conference page.
