A Reminder of Truths

The chapel empties, the lights dim, and countless students make their way to a variety of locations on campus as we concluded the evenings corporate gathering the second day of our annual missions conference. The last stop for the night, resident hall devotions, which includes another opportunity to hear and interact with the missionaries on campus. However, in the midst of the transitions and activities God is undoubtedly working in hearts for His glory.

Keynote speaker, Pastor Mike DeVries, has boldly declared the “exclusivity” of our God. Each session has served as a reminder of the truths being taught in classes throughout a student’s education here at Appalachian Bible College. In Pastor DeVries first message he articulated the truth of our theme verse, Acts 4:12, “No Other Name: The Exclusivity of Grace.” He then followed that pattern in messages 2-4,

  • “No Other Plan: The Exclusivity of Faith” (I Cor. 3:11)
  • “No Other Man: The Exclusivity of Christ” (I Tim. 2:5)
  • “No Other Words: The Exclusivity of the Scriptures” (John 6:68).

We look forward to the closing challenge “No Other Way: The Exclusivity of God’s Glory.”

During this time young and old alike will be provided with the opportunity to publically express what God has privately worked in their hearts. Please continue to pray with us as we conclude our missions conference tomorrow morning that God would mold our hearts calling multiple “laborers to the harvest fields of the world.”

Consider listening to the previous messages. In addition, we'll have an article to come capturing the highlights of these hours in God's Word. In the meantime see photos of the week on our Facebook page.
