Pack Light - Pack Right

Deciding what to bring to college can be a challenge. The tendency is to bring everything you own in order to make your dorm room feel like “home sweet home.” Although students have access to a computer, microwave and laundry room, other items are must-haves. With limited space, we advise students to leave luxury items behind and buy absolute necessities locally.

So what do you absolutely need to bring? Here is a list of dorm room must-haves:

Appliances and Electronics

1. Alarm Clock
2. Coffee Pot (one per room)
3. Extension Cords and Power Strips
4. Mini-refrigerator (one per room/ additional $15 per semester)
5. Cat5 Network Patch Cable

Bedding and Linens

1. Bedspread or Comforter
2. Blankets
3. Mattress Pad (optional)
4. Pillows, Pillowcases
5. Twin Sheets
6. Towels and Washcloths

Household Items

1. Mug, Cup, Bowl, Plate, Utensils

Laundry Supplies
