Pack Light - Pack Right
Deciding what to bring to college can be a challenge. The tendency is to bring everything you own in order to make your dorm room feel like “home sweet home.” Although students have access to a computer, microwave and laundry room, other items are must-haves. With limited space, we advise students to leave luxury items behind and buy absolute necessities locally.
So what do you absolutely need to bring? Here is a list of dorm room must-haves:
Appliances and Electronics
- Alarm Clock
- Coffee Pot (one per room)
- Extension Cords and Power Strips
- Mini-refrigerator (one per room/ additional $15 per semester)
- Cat5 Network Patch Cable
Bedding and Linens
- Bedspread or Comforter
- Blankets
- Mattress Pad (optional)
- Pillows, Pillowcases
- Twin Sheets
- Towels and Washcloths
Household Items
- Mug, Cup, Bowl, Plate, Utensils
- Snacks
- Hand Soap, Hand Sanitizer
- Clorox Wipes
- Waste Basket
- Plastic Storage
- Fan
Laundry Supplies
- Detergent, Fabric Softner
- Laundry Basket
- "Washers, Dryers, and Ironing supplies are available in Resident Halls.
School Supplies
- Stationery
