Bible College News: Support Through Prayer

Monday, April 5, 2010 around 3pm an explosion occurred in the Upper Big Branch Mine located near the birthplace of ABC, Pettus, WV. While a team of nine were exiting the mine the explosion occurred killing seven of them instantly and leaving dozens of others, deeper in the mine, helpless. Multiple rescue teams arrived shortly after the incident and began rescue operations.

As the search continued throughout the night and into the morning twenty-five miners have been confirmed dead. Kevin Stricklin, a Mine Safety and Health Administration administrator, affirmed this morning that “It is still a rescue operation. There are four people still unaccounted for.”
