That Men Would Praise the Lord

This Monday’s chapel had similarities to the days when families would gather around the table for a meal and casually share about the events of the day. In this case, our campus family gathered around the Word and “praised the Lord for His goodness and wonderful works to the children of men!”

This was the first time we were all together with Dr. Anderson following his extended ministry travels since classes resumed nearly a week ago. As a result, Dr. Anderson gave opportunity for students and staff to share testimonies of God’s goodness experienced during spring break.

He introduced the occasion by reading Psalm 107:8, “Oh that men would praise the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!” From that moment on, accounts of God’s goodness in ministry, in answered prayers, in evangelism, and in hearts being led to prepare for ministry were expressed.

The testimonies overflowed with grace as multiple individuals told of serving in their local churches, seeing prayers answered in the lives of families and friends, witnessing to children and adults who confessed Christ as Lord, and various opportunities to encourage laborers to train for the harvest fields.

The minutes were refreshing and all left chapel that morning reminded that God is good and His works are wonderful.
