Experience ABC at Your Convenience

Campus Visit Opportunities

Personal Visit

ABC's specialty! We love it when you and your family or friends come and experience ABC’s exciting and encouraging campus. Tailor your visit to your specific needs and academic or student life interests. Enjoy lunch with the Chair of the major you are interested in, let Financial Aid talk through scholarship opportunities, challenge a student to a game of ping pong during an open conversation, and make the most of your visit. Visits are most profitable between Monday and Friday. We suggest arranging your visit to be on campus on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday morning to experience one of our heart-stirring, servant-focused chapels.

Spring Preview

Mark your calendar in the first weekend of April when we invite you and your family to preview classes, interact with students and faculty, and experience other campus life activities during our unique Spring Preview event. Along with other fun-packed, exhilarating college preview activities, Spring Preview climaxes with ABC Music Department’s stunning display of Christ-honoring music during the Spring Music Festival. This is one event you do not want to miss!

Church or Group Visit

A visit to campus with friends, your senior class, or church group is a memory-making experience. We strive to make this type of visit as personal as any other visit by allowing students to stay in the residence halls, answering all your questions, and exposing you to vital information such as financial aid and the admissions process. Plan to visit between Monday and Friday, and try to schedule group visits of ten or more people at least two weeks in advance.

What You Can Expect

Meals and Lodging

Hospitality is our specialty! Each ABC guest will receive three meal passes to be used in our professionally catered Hanmer Dining Hall. Additional meals may also be purchased at the door. Outside of regular meal hours, the Snack Shop provides snacks and drinks which may be purchased to quench a thirst or appease a growling stomach.

Enjoy one free night of lodging for your entire group. Prospective students experience a night in the residence halls hosted by our ABC students while parents/sponsors enjoy a relaxing evening in our spacious Pinter Apartment or Alpine Lodge (both located on campus). Prospective students will have a mattress provided but will need to bring bedding while sponsors will have bedding provided. At times throughout the year, the residence halls will be unable to host prospective students. On these rare occasions, other accommodations will be made for your one night visit, but a campus tour will still allow a peak into residential student life.

During the Class Day

A typical preview will consist of visiting two or three classes, meeting with Admissions and Financial Aid, taking a campus tour, and attending chapel. Arrangements may also be made at your request to meet with specific instructors, coaches, or other staff members related to your personal interests. Time may also be taken to escape to scenic areas and local town and surrounding area attractions to make your visit increasingly memorable.

Life After Class

ABC campus life includes more than academic class time. In the evenings students socialize in the Alumni Lounge where they play pool, ping pong, foosball, or simply sit and talk with friends. Pickup games of sand volleyball, basketball, or soccer fill the air with excited voices. The surrounding Beckley area hosts a number of state parks with beautiful hiking trails and tourist attractions, such as the New River Gorge and the Tamarack (a local artisans’ showcase).
