Scheduling A Campus Visit

Choosing a college can be one of the most exciting yet challenging decisions. Because we recognize it as one of your most important decisions we encourage prospective students to come and stay in our residence halls, preview our classes, and interact with our students. We believe you will find ABC to be a warm, friendly campus with Christ-honoring faculty and students. Please review the information below before you schedule your visit. Please don't hesitate to contact the Admissions Team if you do not find the answer to your question.

When Should You Come?

Visitors are welcome any time, but most of our visitors take advantage of one of four options:

Spring Preview:

This event is held at the first of April. You'll have the privilege of sharing in the Spring Music Festival, ABC's Music Department's most stunning display of Christ-honoring music. You'll also have a chance to preview classes, interact with students and faculty, and experience other activities encompassed in campus life at ABC.

Individual Visits:

You might consider coming on your own with parents or friends for a personal preview. We try to tailor these visits to fit your individual interests. You'll get the most out of your visit if you come on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday. These are days that you can experience ABC's campus chapel.

Group Visits:

We also have teen groups that come to preview ABC at various times during the school year. Groups are welcome to come and visit the campus, and we can accommodate their schedule as necessary.

What Can You Expect?

When You Arrive:

You may park in the Pipkin Hall parking lot and come in the front door where the receptionist will greet you and direct you to the Admissions Office. An admissions personnel will be available to show to your room and give you a personal schedule for your visit. If you arrive on campus after 5:00 PM, an admissions personnel will make special arrangements to meet you on campus. We ask our visitors to provide us with a cell phone number if possible so we can best assist you during your travel, check-in, and while you are on campus.

During the Class Day:

We try to tailor every visit to your interests. A typical schedule will consist of visiting two or three classes, meeting with Admissions and Financial Aid, taking a campus tour, and attending chapel. We can also arrange for you to meet with specific instructors, coaches, or staff members, and we can also take you on a tour of the local town or the surrounding area attractions.

During the Evening:

In the evenings, our students socialize in the student lounge where they can play pool, ping pong, foosball, or just sit and talk with friends. The lounge also has a refreshment area where students and guests can purchase food and drinks. There is also a mall located approximately half a mile from campus where students can go to shop or hang out with friends.
In the surrounding area, Beckley has a number of parks and tourist attractions, such as the Tamarack, a local artisans’ showcase.
